Jack's Rake
ABOUT US
All the band sing and between us, play guitars in various tunings, acoustic bass, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, flutes, whistles, melodeons, piano accordion, bodhran and saxophone.
Sets consist of original compositions, unique arrangements of traditional songs and tunes plus the odd cover thrown in for good measure.
In addition to our pub, club and festival gigs, we're available for parties, weddings, ceilidhs and more.
We have our own fully PAT tested P.A. and full public liability insurance.

Jack's Rake was formed by four climbing friends who had been rained off their climb in Langdale so did a scramble on Pavey Ark instead. Spending the rest of the day in the Sticklebarn Tavern where the local folk festival was taking place, in the true spirit of punk rock, and drunkenness, decided they could do it too and Jack's Rake was born.
Over the next couple of decades the band evolved and we are now one of the leading folk bands in the Sheffield area.
We are a six piece band, comprised of Mark Pugh, Catherine Pugh, Hannah Smalley, Claire MacRory, Rob Whale and Becky Ball.
